St.James market vendor seen in viral video urinating in container, fined $300,000
The market vendor seen in a viral video urinating in a container near the Charles Gordon Market in Montego Bay, St. James last year, has been fined $300,000.
Denese Adams appeared before the St. James Parish Court on Monday, where she was fined $100,000 or 10 days in prison on 3 of the 4 charges against her.
Acting Chief Public Health Inspector for St. James, Sherika Lewis said for the fourth charge, Adams was admonished.
The vendor reportedly opted to pay the fine.
Ms. Lewis said the Public Health Department will continue to monitor the situation to ensure that Adams complies with all food handling and safety regulations.
