St Elizabeth police nab four alleged robbers
The St Elizabeth police arrested four men and seized an illegal firearm this afternoon, following several robberies in Manchester.
The men who are all from Spanish Town St Catherine, were reportedly held after the vehicle they were travelling in was intercepted in Santa Cruz.
Head of the St Elizabeth Police Division, Superintendent Dwight Daley said about 2:40 PM, officers were alerted after the men carried out robberies in the neighbouring parish of Manchester.
Reports are that at about 2:00 PM, the four men who were travelling in a Nissan AD Wagon motor car held up and robbed several people in Hatfield, Manchester.
During a search of the car, one illegal firearm was found.
Several chain saws and cell phones believed to have been stolen were recovered.
The names of those arrested are being withheld pending further investigation.
