St. Elizabeth Infirmary receives ambulance through ongoing project between Local Government Ministry and CHASE Fund
The St. Elizabeth Infirmary is the first to receive an ambulance through an ongoing project between the Local Government Ministry and the Culture, Health, Arts, Sports and Education (CHASE) Fund.
The project aims to ensure that all the island’s infirmaries are equipped with ambulances.
Speaking at the handing-over ceremony on Thursday, Portfolio Minister Desmond McKenzie noted that of the nation’s 13 infirmaries and two golden age homes, only one had an ambulance.
This, he said will change through the partnership with the CHASE Fund.
Mr. McKenzie stressed the importance of having the necessary equipment to serve those who reside at the nation’s infirmaries.
