The St. Catherine South Police have launched an investigation into the shooting death of a pastor, who was attacked near his home, in Greater Portmore in the parish yesterday (December 19).

Lynval Lewis, the pastor of the Spanish Town and Greater Portmore Tabernacle Churches was rushed to hospital after being shot several times in his car around 11 AM.

Speaking with IRIE FM news, Acting Commander for the Division, Superintendent Hopton Nicholson, said the pastor died while receiving medical treatment.

He said the police will be increasing their presence in the area and are seeking the help of residents to bring those responsible for the pastor’s murder to justice.
