Head of the St. Catherine North police division, Superintendent Hopton Nicholson, has pledged to continue operations aimed at combating motor vehicle theft in the division.

The pledge follows the recovery of eight stolen motor vehicles during operations conducted between October 19 and 22.

Superintendent Nicholson said five people were arrested during in the operations.

He emphasized that the ongoing operations aim to limit criminals’ opportunities to commit crimes and to prevent them from reaping the benefits.

The identities of the individuals arrested, are being withheld, pending further investigations.
