The St. Catherine North Police have sought to assure residents of St. Johns Road that the presence of officers in the area will be maintained, as part of efforts to restore calm and prevent any reprisal attack.

This in the wake of a recent murder, which has left the community tense.

The police, in collaboration with the Ministers Fraternal and Restorative Justice, conducted a walk through yesterday, interacting with residents and offering support.

Inspector Ishmeal Williams, who is in charge of Community Safety and Security Branch in the division, said this type of engagement is welcomed by the residents.

He said the walk through helps to build trust between residents and police.

He noted that yesterday, the police also prosecuted some persons for traffic breaches.
