St. Catherine Municipal Corporation calls for erection of signs through Bog Walk Gorge, Flat Bridge to reduce accidents

Chairman of the St. Catherine Municipal Corporation Norman Scott says he believes the erection of signs through the Bog Walk Gorge, including at the Flat Bridge could help to reduce accidents.

Several motor vehicles have veered off the bridge into the Rio Cobre since the year began.

The most recent incident happened on Saturday afternoon.

The driver and passengers in that accident sustained no serious injury.

A similar situation happened on January 27, where two people had to be rescued by residents.

Speaking to reporters on the matter yesterday, Chairman Scott called on the National Works Agency (NWA) to erect appropriate signs to warn motorists of the dangers of traversing the area.

According to the Chairman, he believes that the roadway has been neglected following the erection of the toll road.
