St. Ann has recorded its first murder for the year.

The deceased has been identified as 37 year old Assistant Operations Manager Odane Lewis of Coxheat Runaway Bay.

Reports from the St. Ann’s bay police are that about 1:20 A.M. Lewis was at home and was in the process of closing the gate, when he was pounced upon by armed men who opened gunfire hitting him in the head and upper body.

The police were alerted and officers who responded found Lewis suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Lewis was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
