St Ann police call for more help from Municipality to keep vending under control
The St Ann police are calling for more assistance from the St Ann Municipal Corporation to keep vending under control in various areas across the parish.
According to officer in charge of criminal investigation for St Ann DSP Linton Bailey, vending which was under control for a period is now getting out of hand, especially in the Browns Town area, and is contributing to traffic problems.
He said vending and other public order issues in St Ann are being addressed by the police, but it would be good for the Corporation to come in and give assistance to the law officers.
DSP Bailey said the town centres, such as Browns Town need to be free of traffic congestion and other obstructions.
As the St Ann police seek to maintain order, DSP Bailey said some communities in the parish are being barred from hosting events.
This he said is due to their noncompliance.
