Police are probing an incident in Alexandria, St. Ann, where a man allegedly committed suicide after chopping and wounding his common law wife and two children.

Dead is 58 year old Winston Pryce, a truck driver of Maida District.

Reports from the Alexandria police are that at about 6:15 P.M. on Friday, Pryce and his family were at home when a dispute developed between him and his common law wife.

During the dispute, it is alleged that Pryce used a machete to inflict chop wounds to his spouse and two children.

He then reportedly proceeded to drink a poisonous substance.

The police were summoned, and Pryce, his spouse and two children were taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

His spouse and children were admitted for treatment.

Investigations are ongoing.
