St. Andrew West Rural MP calls for greater effort to prevent illegal construction

Member of Parliament for St. Andrew West Rural, Juliet Cuthbert Flynn, has called for greater effort to prevent illegal construction within her constituency.
She made the call while delivering her presentation in the State of the Constituency Debate in Parliament yesterday.
Mrs. Cuthbert Flynn called on the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation and the National Works Agency (NWA) to do more to prevent, among other things, the tearing down of embankments to construct buildings.
She said illegal construction has led to at least one death in the past, and this must not be repeated.
She noted that the NWA must protect the island’s road infrastructure, and citizens must abide by the law.
