St. Andrew North police say gang warfare continues to drive murders in the division
The St. Andrew North Police have revealed that gang warfare continues to drive murders in the division.
66 people were killed in the division last year – an increase of 7 over the previous year.
Speaking at a town hall meeting yesterday, Head of the division, Acting Superintendent Randy Sweeney, said more than half of the murders were linked to gangs.
He noted that domestic violence incidents were also a contributing factor.
Meantime, Superintendent Sweeney said operational activities in the division reaped success last year.
