Sprinter Kemba Nelson now on her way to Paris for Women’s 4×100 meters
Sprinter Kemba Nelson is now on her way to paris to join Jamaica’s women’s 4×100-metre relay team in reserve capacity.
The World championship relay silver medalist Nelson is expected to arrive in Paris late this evening or tomorrow morning.
This development comes two days after two-time 200-metre world champion Shericka Jackson withdrew from the 100-metre event at the Paris Olympics.
Nelson, who was a late addition to the team as an alternate participant, had been training with the Elite Track Club in Spain, however, just days before jamaica’s team was set to leave their Pre-Olympic camp in Stuttgart for Paris, Nelson posted on x (formerly known as twitter) that she had been informed she was no longer needed for the team.
The heats for the women’s 4x100m relay are scheduled for August 8.
