Spice vs. Red Rat over Dancehall-Country song claim
Spice is responding to Dancehall veteran Red Rat after he called her out following her claims that she is the first Dancehall deejay to do a country song with the release of “Round and Round,” featuring Busta Rhymes.
Spice boldly declared, “You have never heard a real Dancehall song mixed with country,” crediting herself as the first to do it. Red Rat told YouTuber Mouta Massi, who first highlighted Spice’s claims, that 15 years ago, he recorded a country song titled “Round & Round.”
In response, Spice doubled down on her stance during an Instagram Live where she addressed Red Rat.
Instead of clearing the air, Spice’s response has left some pondering if the “Go Down Deh” deejay is associating Country music with a horse, after she referenced a Dancehall song that includes a horse and the sounds horses make rather than an actual Dancehall-Country song.
Spice is currently promoting her album “Mirror 25,” which is slated for release on August 9.
