A special meeting of the Clarendon Municipal Corporation is to be held on Friday.

This follows the abrupt end to last Thursday’s monthly meeting.

The meeting was cut short, after Councillor of the May Pen North Division, Tanyalee Williams attempted to inform the council that she would be crossing the floor to join the People’s National Party (PNP).

Control of the corporation could change at Friday’s meeting.

IRIE FM News was reliably informed that the meeting scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the corporation’s chamber will discuss several matters.

The matters include: reading of declaration from Councillor Williams, no confidence in the deputy mayor, election of deputy mayor to fill any vacancy, no confidence of the chairperson or mayor and election of the chairperson or mayor to fill a vacancy.

The Jamaica Labour Party has said processes to facilitate Ms. Williams’ expulsion from the party have been activated.
