South Manchester residents protest poor roads and other issues in their communities
This morning, residents of several communities in south Manchester blocked the Lancaster to Victoria Town main road in protest of several issues including poor roads.
Among the areas affected are Lancaster, Pratville, Asia, Victoria Town and Pusey Hill.
As a result of the roadblocks, students had to either stay home or walk several miles to school.
Speaking with the media, the residents said they feel neglected by their political representatives.
In addition to the deplorable road conditions, the residents say the Asia police station lacks a functional service vehicle.
They also say the Pratville Health Centre and Pratville Primary School need repairs after being damaged by Hurricane Beryl.
