South African Netball delegation arrives on Saturday for three match test series vs Sunshine Girls

The South African Netball delegation will arrive in the island on Saturday ahead of the start of a three match test series against the Sunshine Girls, starting January 18 at the National Indoor Sports Centre. 

The Senior Sunshine Girls ranked third in the world who will be led by captain and the world’s top defender Shamera Sterling-Humphrey will face the South Africans  on January 18, 22, and 25 . 

The South African Under 21 team will also be in the tour, where they are expected to face their Jamaican U21 counterparts on dates to be announced. 

The Sasher-Gaye Henry coached Jamaican team fresh from their 2-1 test series win over England in December, will features a mix of seasoned players and emerging talent,  where the England-based centre court player Brie Grierson is the only newcomer named in the 15-member squad. 

The Sunshine Girls squad for the series includes, shooters: Shimona Jok, Shanice Beckford, Rhea Dixon, Mischa Creary and Simone Gordon.

Abigale Sutherland, Khadijah Williams, Crystal Plummer, Brie Grierson and Adean Thomas will feature at centre court, while the defenders are Shamera Sterling-Humprey, Latanya Wilson, Jodi-Ann Ward, Theresa Beckford and Kimone Shaw.
