Some Jamaicans are concerned about the rising cost of living and have expressed fear that their income will not improve.

This was disclosed by Executive Chairman of Market Research Services Limited Don Anderson, at the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce’s 2025 2nd Quarter Business and Consumer Confidence Indices, Press Briefing today.

Anderson noted that most respondents in the survey were of the view that the overall economy of the country will get better.

This boost in consumer confidence is premised on the notion that the business environment is better now, compared to a few months ago, and this growth is expected to continue in comings months.

Anderson said, despite this overall expected improvement, there is general worry that household income will decrease.

Meantime, Mr. Anderson said business confidence increased by 1.7 percent in the second quarter of 2025.

He noted that, despite the increase for that quarter, this is lower than what was recorded in 2024.

Mr. Anderson added that some businesses reported an increase in profit for April to June this year.
