Some British citizens support Jamaica’s decision to cut ties with England, as new king is crowned
Some United Kingdom citizens who staged a protest against King Charles III today, have stated their support of Jamaica’s transition to a republic.
The placard bearing protesters gathered on the streets and chanted ‘not our king!’ even as king Charles was being officially crowned at Westminster Abbey.
They are aware of Jamaica’s plans to sever ties with the British monarchy.
One woman told Irie FM’s UK Correspondent Dujohn Johnson that she is surprised that the process is taking so long.
Another woman said Jamaica is making the right decision given Britain’s role in slavery.
And one man expressed happiness that former colonies are cutting ties with Britain.
