A state of public emergency has been declared for Clarendon.

This following a deadly mass shooting in the Cherry Tree Lane community in Four Paths on Sunday evening.

Eight people including a 7 year old boy were killed.

Nine others were wounded.

A 96 hour curfew was imposed in the area following the incident.

Speaking during a press conference this morning, Minister of National Security, Dr. Horace Chang said a SOE is also now in effect.

He said in addition to the SOE, other security measures are being employed islandwide to tackle gangs.
