Social media users compare Teejay and Valiant’s beef to Vybz Kartel and Mavado clash
It’s a war of words as Dancehall deejays Teejay and Valiant exchange musical jabs.
According to Teejay, who is currently promoting his EP ‘I Am Chippy, the root of the controversy stems from his hit song ‘Drift’. On Thursday night, Teejay sent tongues wagging after he shared a teaser of his song Chapter 1 where he takes aim at Valiant, Producer DJ Mac, and Romeich.
Valiant, who initially claimed he wasn’t going to respond to Teejay, back-pedalled on his stance, and within hours uploaded to social media his response to Teejay’s diss song with ‘Timoya’.
Fans have since compared the Valiant, and Teejay beef to the infamous Mavado and Vybz Kartel clash back in 2008. Some say Valiant in his delivery uses Mavado’s flow while others say parts of Teejay’s song mimics Vybz Kartel’s classic delivery.
In a video slide posted to his verified social media account, Romeich seemingly responded to Teejay who took a jab at his weight in the diss track. “Living the best life with my loved ones as a fat manager boy”, he wrote in the caption of the video slides. One of the videos shows Romeich and his partner enjoying Italy.
Teejay and Valiant’s lyrical battle comes after Stefflon Don and Jada Kingdom’s week-long beef allegedly over Nigerian Afrobeats star, Burna Boy.
