SLB to discontinue guarantor requirement, effective April 1
Effective April 1 the Student Loan Bureau, (SLB) will no longer require applicants to have a guarantor.
The announcement was made today by Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke, as he opened the Budget Debate in Parliament.
Dr. Clarke added that the SLB will also provide over 4000 grants valued at $60,000 each, to low income applicants.
He said owing to the removal of the guarantor requirement, the life insurance reserve will be repurposed to provide funding support to the SLB..
