Award-winning actress Sheryl Lee Ralph has taken to social media to express her grief over the brutal murder of 18-year-old Jada Pollard on the island on Monday.

Setting aside her usual post-Emmys review content, Ralph shared a video on her official Instagram, expressing sadness about the brutal death of the promising Queens High School student.

According to police reports, an armed man broke into Jada’s Smokey Vale St Andrew home around 1:40 A.M on Monday and allegedly robbed one of Jada’s relatives.

Police say Jada heard the screams and went to investigate when the gunman opened fire, hitting her.

She was taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

A suspect has since been taken into custody in relation to the Jada’s murder.
