Shericka Jackson to make 200m season debut at Rabat Diamond League
World champion Shericka Jackson will be making her 200m season debut at the Rabat Diamond League meeting in Marrakech on May 19 as she officially gets her season underway in preparation for the upcoming Paris Olympics.
Jackson’s only race this season was at the JAAA All-Comers meet in Kingston, where she won the women’s 100m event in 11.03 seconds.
In the Moroccan capital, Jackson, who has already withdrawn from a number of meets, will go up against a field that includes former world 60m champion Mujinga Kambundji, rising Ivorian star Maboundou Kone, home town favourite Sara El Hachimi, Italian Dalia Kaddari, Ida Karstoft of Switzerland and the American Caisja Chandler.
Also down to compete in Marrakech are national champion Rohan Watson, Julian Forte and Yohan Blake in the men’s 100m where they will face former Olympic 200m champion Andre De Grasse of Canada.
Rabat is the third stop of the Diamond League this season, with previous cities taking place in Xiamen and Suzhou in China.
