Back to back world 200 meter champion Shericka Jackson will be conferred with an Honorary Doctorate of law by the University of Technology, at its upcoming graduation ceremony on November 18.

Utech in a statements said, Jackson who is pursuing a bachelors degree in sport science will be awarded in recognition of her phenomenal achievements in sprinting and contribution to nation-building. 

Jackson the 2023 diamond league winner over the 100 and 200 meters, has also been listed as one of 11 nominees for the 2023 World Athlete Female of the year award.

The 29 year old was nominated based on her performance on the diamond league circuit and at this year’s world athletics championship in Budapest where she successfully defender her 200 meters title in a blistering 21.41 seconds…..the 2nd fastest time in history.
