Shamera Sterling-named to Nissan Net points team of the round in Suncorp Netball League
Sunshine girls standout Shamera Sterling is the lone Jamaican named to the Nissan net points team of the round following the action in round 8 in the Suncorp Super Netball League in Australia.
Sterling, who was selected at goalkeeper, played a vital role in defense compiling 8 gains, 3 rebounds and an intercept for the Adelaide Thunderbirds who battled to a 54-50 win against the Giants Netball team.
A result that saw them moving to the top of the table on 26 points having recorded 6 wins, a loss and a draw.
Sterling meanwhile continues to lead the league in 2 statistical categories……defensive rebounds and deflections with 23 and 63 respectively and is also 2nd in intercepts with 21.
She returns to action on Saturday when the Thunderbirds host second from bottom Queensland Firebirds at the netball S.A stadium.
The team of the round in the meantime is completed by Kate Eddy, ruby Bakewell-Doran, Maddy Proud, Kiera Austin, Mwai Kumwenda and Alice Teague-Neeld.
