Shamera Sterling and Latanya Wilson help Thunderbirds in Suncorp Super Netball League
Sunshine girls teammates Shamera Sterling and Latanya Wilson were both active on the defensive end for the Adelaide Thunderbirds who coasted to a 61-50 win over Melbourne Vixens to move to second on the table in the Suncorp Super Netball league in Australia.
Sterling compiled a team-high 8 gains, 4 rebounds and an intercept while Wilson finished with 3 gains and an intercept with Eleanor Cardwell leading the team in scoring having made 30 of her 32 shots.
The Thunderbirds with the result are now second on 14 points.
Elsewhere Shimona Nelson scored a game high 36 goals from 38 attempts while Jodi-Ann ward amassed 4 intercepts and 4 gains in a losing cause for the Collingwood Magpies who suffered a 59-55 defeat at the hands of the Giants Netball team.
Action in round 5 continues tonight Jamaica time with reigning MVP Jhaniele fowler suiting up for unbeaten leaders and defending champions West Coast fever who are away to the Queensland firebirds, while Romelda Aiken leads the NSW Swifts into battle against Kadie-Ann Dehaney and the Sunshine Coast Lightning.
