Shaka Pow Brings Medicine and Music to the People
Entertainer Shaka Pow, is proving that you really can have it all.
By day, he’s the Senior Medical Officer at Victoria Jubilee Hospital; while at night, he’s lighting up the dancehall scene with his infectious energy and lyrical fire. A musical prodigy since age three, Shaka Pow grew up surrounded by sound systems and reggae rhythms, eventually hitting the stage as a student at UWI Mona, where he opened for the likes of Beenie Man and Bounty Killa. After earning his medical degree in 1997, he dove deeper into music, collaborating with dancehall heavyweights Steely and Clevie, King Jammy’s, and Jack Scorpio.
His hits Book, God Bless, and Too Experienced established his place in the dancehall world, while his 2001 album Am the Doo made waves in the U.S.
Today, Shaka Pow continues to balance his medical career and music, all while giving back through school visits and charity events.
With his latest singles Kings and Make it Clap heating up the airwaves, Shaka Pow isn’t just making noise — he’s making a movement.
