Several roads remain impassable, following the passage of Hurricane Beryl

Several roads across the Island remain impassable following the passage of Hurricane Beryl, yesterday.

Communications Manager at the National Works Agency, NWA Stephen Shaw, said roads that connect most towns are blocked by downed trees.

Mr. Shaw told IRIE FM News that his team has been out since early this morning conducting assessments and have commenced cleaning up operations.

He said there is a challenge ascertaining a comprehensive report of the affected areas due to defective network operations.

Mr. Shaw said despite the devastation, there are not many reports of break-a-ways or damage to major roads.

In the meantime, he is advising persons to take the necessary precautions as rain is still expected which may result in flooding.
