Several people who were injured in Portmore toll road crash treated and released from hospital
Some of the persons injured in the coaster bus crash along the Portmore toll road in St. Catherine this morning, have been treated and released from hospital.
It’s reported that over 30 persons including school children, were travelling on the bus from Portmore to Kingston when it ran off the road at about 7a.m.
While passengers suffered varying injuries from broken limbs to lacerations, their conditions are not considered life threatening.
The Constabulary’s Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch, (PSTEB), Assistant Commissioner Gary McKenzie told IRIE FM news that investigations continue into the crash, including determining the cause.
Following the crash, police urged persons who may have left their belongings at the scene to visit PSTEB office to collect the items.
ACP McKenzie said some persons have responded to the appeal.
