Several people protest against crime, in Bamboo, St. Ann, despite heavy rains

Despite heavy rains disrupting a planned march in Free Hill, Bamboo, St. Ann this morning (July 26), several residents of the community still showed up to protest against crime and violence in the country.

Some 15 people turned out for the protest, which follows the brutal killing of three family members in Free Hill, last week.

Dead are 46-year-old Antria Rattray, her son 13-year-old Micah Bonitto and their relative 50-year-old Lawrence Baddal.

The march aspect of the protest, which was slated to commence at 10 in support of families who have lost loved ones, has been postponed until Thursday.

Coordinator of the march, Jackie Roots told IRIE FM NEWS that as a mother, she had to spearhead the initiative.

She said protests will continue until a change is noticed.
