Several Jamaicans vie for top honours at NAACP Awards
The Bob Marley: One Love movie and several Jamaicans are vying for top awards at the 2025 NAACP Awards Image Awards.
The biopic earned nominations for Outstanding Motion picture, and Outstanding Ensemble Cast in a Motion Picture while lead actors Kingsley Ben Adir and Lashana Lynch received nominations for Outstanding Actor and Actress in a Motion Picture. The film’s soundtrack is up for Outstanding Compilation Album.
Sheryl Lee Ralph also received a nod in the category, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in Abbot Elementary.
Meanwhile, Eastsyde DJ Skillibeng’s collaboration with Tyler and Gunna, Jump and Skip Marley’s Close were nominated in the Outstanding International Song category. The NAACP Image Awards will take place on February 21 and 22 and will air on BET and CBS.
