Several Canada to Jamaica flights cancelled due to winter storm
Dozens of passengers travelling to Jamaica from Canada have had their flights cancelled or delayed, due to a winter storm that is sweeping through North America.
Among the cancelled flights from Canada to Jamaica, are three that were scheduled to arrive from the Toronto Pearson International Airport.
Two of the flights, on WestJet airline, were scheduled to arrive at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, while one was set for Norman Manley International in Kingston.
WestJet has indicated that its flights to Jamaica that were scheduled for tomorrow and Sunday, will likely be impacted by cancellations as well.
Manager of Commercial Development & Marketing at MBJ Airports Limited, Sharon Hislop Holt, told IRIE FM News that in addition to the cancelled flights, there would be some delays at Sangster International.
Mrs. Hislop Holt added that persons who would be departing Jamaica to Canada will be impacted, while urging them to contact their respective airlines.
In addition to the direct cancellations to Jamaica, passengers across Canada are also being impacted by domestic cancellations that have made it impossible for them to make connections to the island.
Meantime, the Tourism Ministry has indicated that passengers in the United States who had flights to Jamaica have also been impacted by the storm.
These passengers have been unable to make connections because of domestic cancellations from their home cities.
