Several BPO centres impacted by global tech outage
The Private Sector Organization of Jamaica (PSOJ) reports that there has been no major impact from the global information technology outage affecting airports, banks, and health facilities.
Speaking to IRIE FM News this morning, Chairman of the PSOJ’s Innovation and Digital Transformation Committee Christopher Reckord said he has been speaking to local institutions but has not received any report of major impact.
However, he said some Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) centres in the western end of the island were impacted.
He said he expects that the systems should be back to normal by the end of the day.
