Sentencing of Omar Collymore and co-convicts for his wife’s murder, delayed again

Omar Collymore and his 3 co-convicts who were convicted of killing Collymore’s wife and her taxi driver, will have to wait a bit longer to know their fate.

This, as sentencing, which was expected to be handed down today, has been pushed back to Friday.

The 41 year old businessman, along with 34 year-old construction worker Dwayne Pink; 33 year old tailor and salesman Michael Adams; 27 year old marketer Shaquilla Edwards, are to return to the home circuit court on July 26.

When the matter was called up today, the court was told that evidence to support a medical report for Mr. Pink is outstanding.

The 4 men were convicted by a seven-member jury in May.

The crown led evidence that Collymore contracted Adams to kill 32 year old Simone Campbell Collymore, to claim a multi million dollar insurance benefit.

Mrs. Campbell Collymore and taxi operator Winston Walters were killed in January 2018 by gunmen.

Following investigations, 5 persons were arrested and charged.

One of them, 27 year old labourer Wade Blackwood pleaded guilty to double murder and conspiracy to murder, in March 2021 and was sentenced to 35 years in prison.

He testified for the prosecution.
