Senior citizens who seek to engage in New Year festivities urged to be safe
As Jamaicans prepare for the New Year holiday, senior citizens who seek to engage in the festivities, especially alone are being urged to exercise extreme vigilance to ensure safety.
The appeal was made by Golden Designs, an art-based group for seniors.
Founder and Principal Director, Shelly-Ann Thompson says older people are not immune to the tragedies occurring in the country, and as such, they too must take the necessary steps to protect themselves.
Ms. Thompson suggests that seniors engage in community-related activities where they can find safety in numbers.
