Senator Dr. Sapphire Longmore urges administrators not to turn children away from school for grooming issues
Government Senator Dr. Sapphire Longmore has appealed to administrators not to turn children away from school for grooming issues.
Her appeal comes on the heels of recent discussions on the perennial issue.
The latest round of talks followed a video captured by a high school student in St. Catherine.
The student claimed he was barred from entering the institution due to his ungroomed hair.
The Education Ministry has since launched an investigation into the matter.
The Ministry also noted that consultations on the school grooming policy are ongoing.
Commenting on the issue in the senate yesterday, Dr. Longmore said marginalizing children is not the way to go.
