Senator calls for mobile health unit for counselling and other mental health services following death of Danielle Rowe
In the wake of the abduction and murder of 8 year old Danielle Rowe, Senator Dr. Sapphire Longmore has called for a mobile health unit to provide counselling and other mental health services to those facing trauma.
She expressed regret that incidents of this nature continue to occur in Jamaica.
While noting the impact that the case would have had on Danielle’s schoolmates and family, Dr Longmore said there is a need for adequately trained staff to be able to respond quickly to these incidents.
Dr Longmore also called for increased vigilance to safeguard the nation’s children.
