National Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang says although there is room for improvement, Jamaicans should feel safer in the country.
Dr. Chang who is also the General Secretary of the Jamaica Labour Party was speaking at the Party’s Workers Meeting in Manchester Southern last night.
He pointed to the 40% reduction in murders this year, noting that it represents the Government’s commitment to creating an environment where Jamaicans can live, work and do business.
He stressed that the Jamaica Constabulary Force has been equipped with the necessary resources to ensure citizens’ safety.
Dr. Chang also noted that countries across the Caribbean have expressed an interest in learning from Jamaica’s security apparatus.
