Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang says the police force is no longer a last resort employment option
National Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang says citizens are no longer joining the constabulary as a last resort employment option, but as a professional career.
According to the minister, this is an indication of the growth of the force.
The minister was delivering the main address at the JCF’s Passing Out Parade and Awards Ceremony yesterday.
He noted that the freshly minted officers chose to restore and maintain public safety and good order in the society.
He said while the career has risks, it is important and rewarding.
Dr. Chang noted that individuals with multiple CXC passes and capable leadership skills have been joining the force.
He said this has led to the force now having officers who possess technical skills and intellectual depth.
