Sections of the island to experience increased rainfall starting today
Sections of the island are slated to experience increased rainfall starting today.
According to the Met Service, this is due to a trough across the Central Caribbean that has been producing a broad area of unstable weather across the region since the weekend.
It said this system is expected to move closer by today, bringing with it increased rainfall.
The forecast is for periods of showers and thunderstorms to affect parishes, especially those in the eastern section of the island.
Fishers and other marine interests should exercise caution as sea conditions will deteriorate.
The Met Service says it will continue to monitor this system.
The increased rainfall comes amid a drought impacting the island.
According to the Met Service, the drought is to end around May or June.
