Sections of the island were impacted by gale force winds associated with a cold front, last evening.
Gale force winds move at speeds between 63 and 87 kilometres per hour.
The Meteorological Office issued an advisory at the weekend, indicating that cooler-than-normal conditions are expected this week.
It also forecast cloudy conditions, with periods of showers and isolated thunderstorms, especially for southern and north-western parishes.
IRIE FM News understands that residents in St. Ann, Trelawny, St. James and Westmoreland were impacted by the strong winds last evening.
There were reports of fallen trees in St. Ann. Several parishes also experienced power outages.
Fishers and other marine interests are urged to exercise caution, as sea conditions will deteriorate due to strong winds.
