Sebastien Coe lauds Jamaica’s track and field programme

World Athletics President Lord Sebastien Coe has lauded Jamaica’s track and field programme through its solid grassroots preparation and the global success that the country has maintained over the years. 

Coe, a guest of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association, was speaking at a reception  at  the pegasus hotel last night to  a packed room of JAAA’S executives, officials, coaches and  athletes. 

He spoke of Jamiaca’s prowess in Track and Field and the fact that the country has always reporesented wll on the world stage with an attendion to detail in coaching standards.

Jamaica’s prominent track & field coach David Riley who was appointed to the world athletics coaches’ commission, was also singled out by Coe in his speech and Riley was gracious in his reply when he spoke with Irie Fm Sports.

Coe will today tour sections of Western Jamaica  including  several high schools as well as the Montego Bay Sports Complex at Catherine Hall.
