Search for missing Manchester boy today proves futile, will continue tomorrow

The search for missing Manchester high student Jayden Smith is to resume tomorrow after efforts to locate the child today were futile.

The 12-year-old boy was last seen on Friday afternoon leaving school.

A search party to include the Jamaica Fire Brigade, the police, staff from the Manchester high school, along with relatives and friends set out to locate Jayden, this morning.

Speaking to reporters, district officer at the JFB Fitzroy Donaldson said firefighters checked abandoned structures during the hours long search.

Meanwhile, Jayden’s relative Vincente Dawes is hoping the boy will be found alive.

And, Principal of Manchester high Jasford Gabriel said the school community continues to be affected by Jayden’s disappearance.
