Scores of people attend funeral service of veteran journalist Barbara Gayle

Scores of people turned out for the funeral service of veteran Journalist Barbara Gayle in Kingston today. 

 

77 year old Gayle was  killed at her Caymanas Country Club Home, in St. Catherine, last December.

 

The funeral service held at the Kencot Seventh Day Adventist Church saw the attendance of members of the legal and media fraternity along with relatives and friends.

 

While giving his tribute, Gayle’s son, Neil Josephs said she was known for her jovial personality and urged mourners not to be saddened by her death. 

 

 

And Gayle’s daughter Dr. Alison Williams said her mother was a mentor to many persons. 

 

 

Meanwhile, Director of Public Prosecutions, DPP Paula Llewellyn said Ms Gayle mentored several of her colleagues. 

 

She said Ms. Gayle was her good friend and she will do all in her power to bring her attacker to justice.

 

 

24 year old Travis Ellis who has been charged with Barbara Gayle’s murder is to reappear in court on May 26.
