Scores of farmers affected recent heavy rains
Scores of farmers across the island have been significantly affected by the recent heavy rains.
On Thursday, Agriculture Minister Floyd Green reported that farmers in St. Elizabeth and Manchester have been affected, and an assessment of the loss is to be done.
However, speaking with Irie Fm news on Friday morning, president of the Jamaica Agricultural Society, (JAS), Lenworth Fulton said the impact is more widespread.
He said he has received reports of losses from farmers in St. Ann, St. Mary, Trelawny, and Clarendon.
He said a more comprehensive report expected next week, will determine the number of farmers affected.
