Schoolboy football resumes as competitions restart after hurricane delay

The 2025 ISSA Schoolboy Football season resumes this afternoon following the disruption caused by Hurricane Melissa, with both the Manning Cup and DaCosta Cup competitions returning at the Round of 16 stage.

Only one DaCosta Cup match is on today’s schedule, as defending champions Garvey Maceo look to continue their title defence when they face Maggoty High in Group 3. The match kicks off at 3:00 p.m. at the Wembley Centre of Excellence. The remaining fixtures in the round will be played on Saturday.

Meanwhile, eight matches are slated for the Corporate Area as the Manning Cup Round of 16 also restarts. Defending champions Kingston College will be in action at 2:00 p.m. when they meet Campion College in the opener of a double-header at Jamaica College. JC will then take the field at 4:15 p.m. against St. Jago in the day’s second match-up at the venue.

At Waterhouse, Tivoli Gardens meet Wolmer’s Boys at 2:00 p.m. before St. Andrew Technical square off with Excelsior at 4:15 p.m.

Calabar host Hydel in one of two other 3:00 p.m. fixtures, while at Prison Oval, Eltham High will take on Mona.

At St. George’s College, action begins earlier with Charlie Smith opposing last season’s beaten finalists St. Catherine High at 1:30 p.m. The home team, St. George’s College, will then face Vauxhall High at 3:30 p.m. to close out the day’s schedule.
