School railway service suspended until next Monday following low turn out
The Jamaica Railway Corporation, (JRC) has suspended its school train service, until next Monday.
This after only a small number of students used the service, on Monday.
The two trains operate from Old Harbour to Spanish Town and Linstead to Spanish town in st. Catherine.
General manager of the JRC, Donald Hanson, told Irie Fm news, that only 6 students used the service, on the first day of the 2022/2023 academic year, despite the trains being able to accommodate some 480 passengers.
He said as a result, operations will be suspended until next week.
