SBAJ looks forward to deepening collaboration with new JLP Administration

The Small Business Association of Jamaica (SBAJ) has indicated that it is looking forward to deepening collaboration with the new Jamaica Labour Party Administration.

This in the wake of the JLP’s victory at the polls, defeating the People’s National Party.

At the end of the preliminary count, the JLP had 34 seats to the PNP’s 29.

President of the SBAJ Garnet Reid congratulated the JLP and its leader Dr. Andrew Holness, on securing a third consecutive term in office.

He noted that this milestone underscores the confidence the Jamaican People have in Dr. Holness’s leadership and vision for the nation’s future.

He said under Dr. Holness’s stewardship, Jamaica has witnessed significant strides in economic growth, fiscal responsibility, and enhanced security.

The SBAJ President acknowledged the achievements adding that he anticipates continued progress in the coming term.

Reid said the association recognizes the importance of stable leadership in fostering an environment where small businesses can grow and thrive.

He said continued collaboration will help ensure that Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSME’s) receive the support they need to contribute meaningfully to Jamaica’s economic development.

He expressed hope that the Small Business Sector and the Government can work together to empower entrepreneurs and strengthen the nation’s prosperity.

He also said the SBAJ remains committed to working with the government to create an enabling environment for MSME’s.

He said the association anticipates the implementation of policies that support growth, sustainability, and innovation within the sector.

He further noted that as Jamaica embarks on this new chapter, the SBAJ reaffirms its dedication to fostering a robust and resilient small business community, contributing to the realization of the nation’s vision of shared prosperity.
