Sarah Misir unveiled as pilot for Virat Kohli-owned Team Blue Rising in 2025 E1 World Championship

Jamaican race driver Sarah Misir has been announced as the official female pilot for Team Blue Rising in the second season of the UIM E1 World Championship.

The competition, which is the world’s first and only all-electric raceboat championship, features nine teams each featuring male and female pilots sharing the driving duties, racing in all-electric RaceBirds—purpose-built, sustainable boats.

It’s scheduled to get underway on January 25 in Jeddah before shifting to Qatar on February 22 for the second stop of an expanded calendar that features seven events across multiple continents.

The teams are owned by some of the most prominent names on the planet including Will Smith, Rafael Nadal, Sergio Perez, Didier Drogba, Tom Brady and superstar India batsman Virat Kohli who owns Team Blue Rising.

Misir, the Caribbean’s first pro female race car driver and four-time Jamaican Motorsports Athlete of the Year, will partner American John Peters who served as Team Blue Rising Team Principal in 2024.

The third stop on the UIM E1 World Championship will take place in April (at a date to be announced) and is followed by Monaco (July 19), Lake Como, Italy (August 23), October (at a date to be announced) before the season finale, the E1 Miami GP, scheduled for November 8, 2025 that will mark the series’ first race in North America.

The inaugural season wrapped up with NFL legend Tom Brady’s Team Brady being crowned Champions of the Water ahead of the Will Smith-owned Westbrook Racing and Marc Anthony’s Team Miami powered by Magnus.
